Sharp tools. open doors. Steady hands.
The Borner's Foundation invests in high school graduates pursuing a career in barbering — covering the cost of tuition, tools, and training so talent isn't lost to tuition statements.
Built in the chair. powered by the community.
The Borner's Foundation was born from a simple observation: too many talented young people walk across the graduation stage with the skill, the drive, and the discipline to become master barbers — and stop there. Not because they lack ability, but because they lack a few thousand dollars.
Barbering school costs money. Clippers, shears, capes, and a license cost more. For a high school senior or recent graduate without family support, those costs are often the difference between a calling and a closed door.
We exist to keep that door open. Through scholarships, kit grants, and direct partnerships with the schools that teach the craft, we move resources from the people who have them to the students who need them — and then we get out of the way.
Every dollar is an act of belief: in the trade, in the next generation, and in the neighborhoods that will be sharper because of them.
We help high school graduates become licensed barbers by covering the cost of tuition, tools, and time — and we partner with the schools that train them, so the whole pipeline gets stronger.
Three ways we keep students in the chair.
The Borner's Tuition Award
Full and partial scholarships covering accredited barbering programs. Awarded to recent high school graduates pursuing licensure, with priority for students who would otherwise need to defer or drop out for financial reasons.
First Kit Grant
A professional-grade starter kit — clippers, trimmers, shears, capes, and PPE — delivered to every student we sponsor. Because nobody learns to cut hair on borrowed tools.
School Partnership Fund
Direct grants to partner barbering schools for equipment, classroom upgrades, and exam-prep support — so the institutions training our future barbers can keep doing the work, well.
Real students. real chairs.
